When To Sleep
... when to sleep
Love is all a way of forgiveness
Or else we wouldn't be human
To slip and hurt most the closest
Will always be our undoing
And to those we trust in our sleep
And to those we hurt oh so deep
There is something of the lost child in us
And it never knows when to weep
When we find ways to move along
From healing what injured our souls
We might help others injured too
And grow a little more whole
And to those we trust in our sleep
And to those we hurt so deep
There's a lost little child inside all of us
That never knows when to sleep
Half of them try to patch the hole
The other half carving another
Half of them trying to fix the hole
The other half digging another
When we find ways to move and heal
From that injured child deep inside
Helping others who are injured too
We rise to where love conquers pride
And to those we trust in our sleep
And to those we hurt oh so deep
There's a lonely lost child inside all of us
Who never knows quite when to sleep
...never knows quite when to sleep
