I live for the present. (It's the only time that truly exists, or is real.) But I have noticed that there seem to be presents from the past, and that there will be future presents, which are both intimately connected with the present I am opening "now." So I strive to formulate a way of living, in the present, which will not only be pleasant to experience at this moment, but will create memories that are rich and enlightening when it has become a present of the past, and also be the foundation of a future full of pleasing presents and lacking in unpleasantness. (I like presents, especially when they are pleasant.) I'm not saying that I am really good at this, or anything, but just that I try to do it. 3/12/02 © Huw Powell
