so you have to keep on your toes out this way

Steam is still best because you can burn anything
but diesel over electric is easier on the engineers

If you don't back up a bit before you pull away
You have to budge every boxcar into motion at the same time

you can lie under a train in a pinch, or over it in a tunnel.
Ever ride for far outside in the space between the cars?

They're a lot louder than I remember them, but faster too
not as fast as I imagined them, just faster than long ago

Some sand goes down the dunes on a rainy afternoon
stuck in the mud for holiday on a speed record beach for days

It still counts as learning if you have to make it up yourself
Or if it makes itself up just past the edge of what you know
