Money is absolutely useless to
Assign value to a human being
Or a currency to account for
The passage of our time

It is a terrible measure
Of a person's worth while in life

The basic necessities of life should be free
Health, education, housing, and food
And our basic physical safety -
Freedom from greed would be good

(Life already provides
much more of that than it should)

Money is the wrong tool to gauge
Or exchange most of our values
After all it's only a measuring jar
And it warps everything passing through

Except for oranges and apples
And it's great for measuring shares
