Sorry, I couldn't resist. One reason for people displaying "logic" that convolutes on itself, always seeming to need to resolve to the same unjustified propositions, is that their unconscious either needs to keep itself accepting them or that it won't allow consideration of what the implications of a set of ideas really is. It will not allow logical consideration of that which makes it uncomfortable.
The logical ability can be a fabulous tool once it is unfettered enough to be used to slowly reduce the unconscious' hold on ones ideas of what is possible. It can ferret out limitations on ones capabilities, and set up orderly principles to follow while trying various healing or therapeutic measures to reduce them.
