The
Inside (It Hurts)
Outside (It Still Hurts)
Blues
Inside -
outside -
it still hurts
It was five in the morning
In the gym with some blues,
Just me and a busted guitar.
No matter how long
I play with these kids
We're all still as scared as before.
Here at least we've got music
And a mind or two we can read
The bedding and food are spartan as hell
But it beats waking up on the street
Inside - outside - it still hurts
We're here for a reason
The same crime as the last -
We can't find a lifestyle that fits
And it really don't matter
How much work we put in
'Cause no one out there changed a bit
But here at least we've got music
And a mind or two we can feed
The bedding and food are spartan as hell
But it beats waking up on those streets
Inside - outside - it still hurts
(busted guitar)
Inside - outside - it still hurts
So I ask myself
Would I be here right now
If I had anywhere else I could go
And none of the answers
Make any damn sense
'Cause this place is all that I know
And here at least we've got music
And a mind or two we can bleed
The bedding and food are spartan as hell
But it beats waking up on your street
Inside - outside - it still hurts
