Courage to Call
I don't know what's come into these days
The past was poison and it still shows its ways
The sins of the fathers, the evil compromise
Placing their property above human lives
Underneath it all lies centuries of oppression
Labor unpaid and profits over taken
Servant versus slave fighting over scraps
Left on the street for our entertainment
Everybody's looking for liberty
But what they really want is courage to call their own
So they vote and vote for a world that gets worse
And promises of revenge on a Sunday afternoon
Chorus
Sometimes it seems like all you want's a good job
Like the stories of people with houses to buy
But a rich man told you the poor pick your pockets
I'm not sure but that sounds like a lie
Chorus
I don't know what's come into these days
The past was poison and it still shows its ways
The sins of the fathers, the evil compromise
Placing their property above human lives
Servant versus slave fighting over scraps
