She has spent too long waiting
Around for the wrong kind of man
She has heard too many stories
From other women to give a damn

She's spent her whole life working
And raised two great kids alone -
Well a couple of guys would lay claim
To that but they were never home

When she goes out some heads still turn
She's still got a twinkle in her eye
But what it would take to get her attention
Is probably not some ordinary guy

She's got a little house on her own
On a simple bit of land
Got it fixed up most everything works
And did it all without a man

And sometimes some nights she gets lonely
But it's not really for somebody new
Just the idea that if there'd been someone
She would have shared her life with them too
